When it comes to diabetes, knowledge is power. Find out if you’re at risk today.
Diabetes Alert Day is a day dedicated to raising awareness about the risk of type 2 diabetes and encouraging people to take proactive steps toward prevention and management. Each year, thousands of Americans learn they may be at risk for diabetes. Getting informed and checking your risk are the first steps to a healthier future.
1 in 10 Americans has diabetes.
Nearly 1 in 3 people have prediabetes and most don’t know it.
Early detection and proper management can significantly reduce the impact of diabetes on long-term health.
Early detection can make all the difference. Find out if you’re at risk for type 2 diabetes by taking the 60-second American Diabetes Association's online risk test. If you already know you’re at risk or have been diagnosed, sign up to learn more about our upcoming DSMES sessions and resources available through the Lewis County Health Department.
If you or a loved one has been diagnosed with prediabetes or diabetes, our free Diabetes Self-Management Education and Support (DSMES) program can help you:
